This is how you lose the time war
Amal El-Mohtar & Max Gladstone
I definitely don't think this book is going to be enjoyed by everyone (where is the fun in being loved by everyone anyway?), I'm not even convinced I'm the right target for it. But I enjoyed it a lot, even though I started the book confused as fuck. Once I accepted it was gonna feel like a fever dream (a good one though) I just went with it and kept picturing images and scenes that could've come from one of those movies that don't make sense but also do.
It was not an earth shattering, mind blowing experience for my little brain, but it was a change from all the fantasies I've been reading recently and it was great, it was pretty, it was (bitter)sweet.
Would definitely recommend to anyone who's keen on poetry with a lot of romance, anyone who loves following MCs chasing each other, and who doesn't care about understanding 100% of what the authors meant.
